We are LuckyFF

Our objective is to provide a platform for all film-makers to screen their works and to create a space for exhibition, exposure and critical discussion.

Each year the funds raised through this event have gone towards supporting artistic ventures. Initially created as a fundraiser for the Independent theatre show “Lucky” as part of The Spare Part Room Season at New Theatre 2011, LuckyFF has gone on to support “The Hiding Place” at ATYP’s Under the Wharf season (View the trailer here) &  The Arts Platform, a non-profit organisation that supports artists.

This year LuckyFF will be raising funds for The Arts Platform to help keep the Artists in Residency Program alive. Last year, The Arts Platform supported over 30 artists through their program and donated over $7,000 worth of in-kind support for creative developments in writing, visual & performing arts. The Arts Platform will be awarding a new Film-Makers Artist Residency for the winning film maker, valued at $1,500.

We make our own luck

The festival showcases quality Australian short films, animations, music videos and doco’s. LuckyFF is organised by a committed group of artists, who understand the need for a sustainable and thriving artistic culture.

We are back for our third year (yep, third time lucky!) and we are growing, expanding & shifting LuckyFF up a gear. This year, we will screen a selected season of 10 short films under 10 minutes at Platform 2 in Leichhardt accompanied by more fun, games, prizes and food than you can poke a black cat at.

LuckyFF is Luckier than other short film festivals – it is open to all genres of films, has no age or student restrictions, and we don’t mind if they’ve been previously screened. It truly is a chance for anyone with a passion for film making to get their films shown and be part of this exciting emerging festival.
